For Saddleback College Science Math Building Project . The Preliminary Cost Estimate to complete Project construction is $40,000,000.00. The Preliminary Cost Estimate is provided for reference purposes only. Bidders must independently evaluate Project requirements and propose a price for completing Project construction and other obligations under the Contract Documents based on each Bidder's independent evaluation. Bidders must submit Pre-Bid inquiries or clarification requests through the PlanetBids portal. PreBid questions or clarification requests musts be submitted no later than January 25, 2023 at 5:00 PM. The District will not respond to any Bidder inquiries or clarification requests submitted after such date/time. District responses to Bidder inquiries or clarification requests will be not be directly distributed to Bidders; District responses will be communicated to Bidders by posting on the online portal. Bidders are solely responsible for accessing the online portal to review District responses to Bidder inquiries or clarification requests. Interested bidders are encouraged to confirm their attendance by email to purchasing-dept@socccd.edu by January 10, 2023 at 5:00pm The failure of a Bidder's representative to be present for the entire Pre-Bid Conference and Job Walk may result in the Bidder's Bid Proposal being deemed non-responsive and rejected. Bid Proposals must be submitted with Bid Security in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Bidder's proposed price to complete Project construction and obligations under the Contract Documents. Bid Security shall be in the form of cash, cashiers/certified check payable to the District, or Bid Bond in the form and content included with the Contract Documents. Submittal of Bid Security shall be in accordance with the Information for Bidders. Bid Bond 10.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% The Bidder and all Subcontractors shall be DIR Registered Contractors pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5. The Bid Proposal of a Bidder who is not a DIR Registered Contractor when the Bid Proposal is submitted will be rejected for non-responsiveness. All Subcontractors identified in a Bidder's Subcontractors' List must be DIR Registered contractors at the time the Bid Proposal is submitted. Submitted Bid Proposals may be withdrawn via the online Portal prior to the latest date/time for submitting Bid Proposals. Bid Proposals shall remain firm, binding and enforceable for sixty (60) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding . The Contract, if awarded, will be by action of the District's Board of Trustees to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest priced responsive Base Bid Proposal. If Alternate Bid Items are included in the bidding, the lowest priced Bid Proposal will be determined on the basis of the Base Bid Proposal.
