This project is included in the City of Dublin's fiscal years 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of November 30, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has nor been established; however, funding is funding in 2024 is for detailed design. The preliminary engineering work currently underway is not scheduled to finish until December 2023. It will include detailed design work in the winter 2023 Consultant Services Bulletin, but not be awarded until 2024. A detailed scope has not yet been released. Funding for this project provides for a new crossing over I-270 from Tuller Road to Emerald Parkway in lieu of widening Sawmill Road to seven lanes. It is a key recommendation of the Sawmill Road Corridor Study completed in 2019. It is located in the easternmost part of the Bridge Street District, connecting Tuller Road on the south side of I-270 with Emerald Parkway on the north side of I-270. The project is currently in the Preliminary Engineering phase. Detailed design and construction costs included are based on the planning level assumptions included in the current study and will be updated as the project develops. This project supports the Mount Carmel Hospital site development, and is expected to ease traffic operations in the Sawmill Road corridor, as growth continues in the area. The new crossing will also enhance pedestrian and bicycle access across the limited access facility, connecting neighborhoods and creating vitality, highlighting Dublin's commitment to high quality. The initiative aims to connect the Bright Road neighborhood and the Bridge Street District.
