Site work and paving for a road / highway in Roselle Park, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
A certified check or bid bond for not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid, provided said check need not be more than $ 20,000.00, nor shall not be less than $500.00, and a consent of surety from a surety company authorized to transact business in the State of New Jersey in a sum equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the amount bid, and be delivered at the place on or before the hour named above. Signatures shall be in ink and in longhand. Drawings, specifications and forms of bids, contract and bond for proposed work, prepared by Michael J. Neglia, will be on file at the office of said Engineer, 200 Central Avenue, Suite 102, Mountainside, N. J. 07092 The Standard Proposal Form and the non-collusion affidavit are attached to the specifications, copies of which will be furnished on application to the Engineer. In accordance with NJSA 40A:11-23.2, all contracts entered into with the Borough of Roselle Park on or after September 1, 2004, the contractor must be registered with the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Revenue and provide a business certificate with the bid. The contractor shall provide written notice to its subcontractors and supplier of the responsibility to submit proof of business registration to the contractor. The requirement of proof of business registration extends down through all levels (tiers) of the project. Before final payment on the contract is made by the contracting agency, the contractor shall submit an accurate list and proof of business registration of each subcontractor or supplier used in the fulfillment of the contract, or shall attest that no subcontractors were used. All contracts and subcontracts for construction or purchase of materials are subject to Section 3 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1968 where to the greatest extent possible, opportunities for training & employment shall be given to lower income residents of the project area, and when possible, contracts shall be awarded to business concerns owned by area residents. The Borough of Roselle Park reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waiver any informalities in the bidding. Under this Contract, this item shall mean that the Contractor shall provide a safe passage of vehicles and pedestrians for ingress and egress to properties abutting the right-of-way within the limits ofthe project, when the Contractor is unable to utilize flagmen for traffic control. Traffic Directors shall be off-duty Police Officers from within the Municipality of where the work is being performed. The Traffic Directors shall be located in a strategic location as determined by the Municipal Traffic Officer and/or Engineer in order to safely and efficientlycontrol traffic during construction hours. The Contractor shall contact the Municipal Police Department in order to obtain the services of Traffic Directors.
