The cable shall be telecommunications grade designed for the high-speed transmission of voice and data communication. The cable shall combine a loose tube fiber design with a UV rated outer jacket and be designed for aerial installations on high voltage overhead power lines. The tubes containing the fibers shall incorporate a filled loose buffer tube design which allows the cable to expand or contract without causing any stress on the fibers. The loose buffer tubes shall be filled with a soft moisture resistant compound to prevent the ingress of moisture to the fibers. The compound shall act as a lubricant to permit the fibers to "float" inside the buffer tube. The filling compound shall be non-toxic, nonhygroscopic, non-nutrient to fungus and electrically non-conducting. The buffer tubes shall be helically stranded, torsion free, around the central anti-buckling element. The fibers shall be placed loosely inside each buffer tube.
