Site work and paving for a road / highway in Bakersfield, California. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The existing pavement on California Avenue between Union Avenue and Washington Street is in disrepair. As part of the on-going Federal Pavement Rehabilitation Program, this project will rehabilitate the existing pavement on California Avenue between Union Avenue and Washington Street, and will improve the overall rideability of the road for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. This project is federally funded through the regional surface transportation program (RSTP). Federal funds will cover 88.53% and utility surcharge funds (URF) will cover the remaining 11.47% of construction costs. The project is included in the City of Bakersfield's FY 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Per the owner, as of April 26, 2022, this project has been designed in-house. The owner states they just submitted their E-76 to CalTrans so they do not have an advertisement date yet. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
