Construction of a new correctional facility in Kemptville. The new facility will be located at the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario (ARIO), otherwise known as the farm side of the former Kemptville College of Agricultural Technology, located across the street from the campus. The Ontario government says the new facility will adopt modern planning principles and design elements, including single cell occupancy, risk-classified housing units, modern programming and cultural space, open visitation spaces, and improved professional development space for staff. TIMELINE: Project will be procured through Design-Build-Finance-Maintain. Planning, Design and Conformance contract has been awarded to Norr in joint venture with KMA. Community Consultation is complete. No schedules have been determined for a RFQ for design-build contractors or the Request For Proposals from Invited design-build Consortia. Construction timing is undetermined at this time. Estimated Total Capital Costs: $200M - $499M. *No inquiries will be accepted by the consultants at this time.
