his project is located in and directly adjacent to the developed Visitor Center and Housing Area at Sunset Crater National Monument (SUCR) in Coconino County, Arizona. The SUCRVisitor Center area is located at 6082 Sunset Crater Rd, Flagstaff, AZ, 86004. The VisitorCenter Area is located appx. 5 miles East on FS 545 (Wupatki Loop Road) from theintersection of FS 545 and US Highway 89. The intersection of US Highway 89 and FS 545 isappx 18 miles north of Flagstaff, AZ. The elevated water storage tank has good accessibility for vehicles and equipment. The elevated water storage tank was constructed in 1966 and has been properly maintained since. This has left the tank in good condition but requires minor rehabilitation to reach the full design life. In aneffort to reduce impact on the surrounding resources all considerations will be made to use minimalimpact. Contractor will be responsible for proper disposal of all materials. The water tank providesservices to a visitor center (2 restrooms, a water fountain, and other points of service), a maintenancefacility, 2 residential housing units, a 2-unit apartment building, 4 trailer pads, and a seasonal campground with 2000 GPD used on average, and various points of service (yard hydrants,spigots, fire hydrants) Rehabilitate the existing elevated water tank at SUCR to comply with OSHA, AWWA regulations. A temporary water supply in compliance with all ADEQ guidelines must be provided while existing tank is out of commission. All water quality testing stipulated by ADEQ must be preformed prior to rehabilitated tank being brought back into service. All applicable ADEQ paper work will be provided to park.This proposal is for the rehabilitation of the 100' 50,000 gallon elevated water storage tank.The water tank serves the Visitor Center, 2 Public restrooms, 8 residential service connections, and a seasonal campground using 2000 GPD average.
