Renovation of a water / sewer project in Cayucos, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Cayucos water treatment plant supplies drinking water to the community of Cayucos California. The plant provides filtration of the water with three Tri-Mite TM-350A filters that were installed in 1996. While the exterior coatings have been maintained by plant staff, the interior coatings are original and have begun to fail. In the interest of preserving the useful life of these filters we are seeking proposals for interior recoating services. The County of San Luis Obispo reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive any informalities. Many products contain chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's), a known depleter of ozone in the atmosphere. Under the U.S. Clean Air Act and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, CFC production for use in industrialized nations is to be totally phased out by January 1, 1996. There are still many products on the market that contain CFC's or are made with CFC's. The Department of General Services, purchasing staff must identify products made with or containing CFC's and purchase alternative products whenever practical and possible. Work will be performed annually in three phases starting with unit 3. The requested proposal is for recoating the interior of 1 Tri-Mite filter unit 3. The contract may be renewed annually for two subsequent years/phases to cover the recoating of units 1 and 2 at the County's discretion.
