Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a parking garage in Gas City, Indiana. Completed plans call for the addition of a 3,840-square-foot parking garage.
The Project consists of a 40' x 96' post-framed building addition to an existing post-framed building. The project includes earthwork, concrete foundation, engineered wood-framed structure, metal siding and roofing, insulation, doors, windows, cabinetry, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical. The project will be bid and constructed under one unified general contract. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bidder's bond made payable to the Owner, in a sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the highest aggregate proposal, which check or bond will be held by the Owner as evidence that the bidder will, if awarded the contract, enter into the same with the Owner upon notification from him to do so within ten (10) days of said notification. Should a successful bidder withdraw his bid, or fail to execute a satisfactory Contract, the Owner may then declare the bid deposit of bond or check forfeited as liquidated damages but not as a penalty For contracts over $200,000, approved performance and payment bonds guaranteeing faithful and proper performance of the work and materials, to be executed by an acceptable surety company, will be required of the Contractor at the time he executes his contract. The bond will be in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price and must be in full force and effect throughout the term of the Construction Contract plus a period of twelve (12) months from the date of substantial completion.
