Renovation of a municipal facility in Wayne, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The Wayne County Commission invites proposals to provide all Work, including but not limited to labor, material, equipment, supplies and transportation for the Re-Roofing of the Wayne County Health Department, 217 Kenova Avenue, Wayne WV 25570. All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Architect - Edward Tucker Architects, Inc., 1401 Sixth Avenue, Huntington WV 25701 - and this Invitation to Bid. Work shall include tear off and removal of existing single-ply membrane roof, insulation, and flashings; and the furnishing and installation of new EPDM roofing system including insulation base layers, tapered insulation, flashings, metal edgings, and related accessories and sealants. If this Bid is accepted, we will complete the Work (Substantial Completion) in: 60 (Sixty) consecutive calendar days. Final Completion will be achieved no later than: 14 (Fourteen) consecutive calendar days thereafter. The Owner will suffer financial loss if the Work is not Substantially Complete within the Contract Time as defined in Article 6 of the General Conditions, and if final completion is not achieved within the specified time frame following Substantial Completion. As liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the Contractor and the Contractor's surety shall be liable for and shall pay the Owner $300 (three hundred dollars) per calendar day for each day beyond the Contract Time that either Substantial or Final Completion is not achieved. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond as found in the Project Manual. A Contract Performance Bond and a Contract Materials and Labor Payment Bond each equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price will be required for the successful Contractor. Other bidding requirements are described in the Project Manual. The Owner intends to issue a letter of intent to award a contract within 14 days of the bid date; however, bidders will be required to submit offer under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 60 days after submission. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to re-advertise.
