The Kane County Commission invites bids for construction services for retrofit installation of two wheelchair lifts (vertical platform lifts) at the Kanab Center, located at 20 N. 100 E., Kanab, Utah 84741. One lift is to be installed in Kanab Center Building #2 and is designed to travel approximately 42" from ground floor up to a raised platform stage. Installation of this lift will require two new wall openings to be cut-in, some open floor to be infill framed, and the associated retrofit and trim/finish around the wheelchair lift to be completed. The 2nd lift is to be installed at the exterior of Kanab Center Building #1 and is designed to travel approximate 10'-0" from ground level down to an exterior basement level. Installation of this lift will require some concrete demolition and installation of a vertical shaft enclosure to house the proposed wheelchair lift. Bid Bond must accompany each bid to be considered. This project is funded in whole or in part by a grant through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The contractor will be required to comply with all the federal labor standards and attendant laws, including the payment of the most current Davis-Bacon wages and compliance with Section 3 to provide employment opportunities for lower income persons and small businesses.
