Renovation of an educational facility in Carson, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Gym and Field House Replacement This project will renovate a total of 57,000 ASF/79,400 GSF in the Gymnasium (#60) and Field House (#61). The buildings were constructed in the 1970s and are in need of building systems and equipment upgrades. This project will upgrade building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, correct accessibility deficiencies, and replace aging equipment. Programmatic upgrades in the Gymnasium would include renovation of existing multi-purpose spaces, dance studios, kinesiology training rooms, storage space, and other select program spaces. This project will result in a gain of 40 FTE in lecture space. This project is currently in the California State University's FY 2022-2026 CIP. As of March 23, 2022, preliminary plans, working drawings and construction are anticipated in 2023/2024.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
