The purpose and intent of this Unsealed Invitation for Bid (UIFB) is to establish a contract with one qualified firm, to provide the following services for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation (JYF), an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The agency maintains a reproduction of James fort as part of its outdoor exhibits. The fort is surrounded by a timber palisade with wooden bulwarks constructed at each of the three corners. The Fort also has enclosed within it various replica buildings. Inspection has revealed that numerous palisade and structural timbers of the buildings exhibit extensive deterioration and must be replaced. The intention of the agency is to replace damaged material. Direct and submit all inquiries in writing to Myra Borchardt by October 8, 2020 at 5:00PM. Questions received after this deadline will not be considered. Work shall be started no later than November 9, 2020 and shall be completed by February 26, 2021. Work may be done during regular hours of operation, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Sunday. An award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible. Evaluation will be based on net prices. Unit prices, extensions and grand total must be shown. In case of arithmetic errors, the unit price will govern. If cash discount for prompt payment is offered, it must be clearly shown in the space provided. Discounts for prompt payment will not be considered in making awards. The State reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part, to waive any informality, and to delete items prior to making an award.
