Saving Project...

Site work, new construction and renovation of a medical facility in Prince George, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a medical facility; and for the renovation of a medical facility.

Construction of a new patient care tower at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC). The new facility will provide a variety of acute care services and will include new surgical suites, a cardiac care centre and a mental health and addictions treatment unit. TIMELINE: Project is on hold, pending funding approval. Conceptual plan was approved by the provincial government. Parkade construction will be followed by the demolition of the Northern Interior Health Unit on Edmonton Street to allow for the eventual construction of a new surgical tower for the hospital. Owner is finalizing a business plan, upon approval of the business plan, a Request for proposals is anticipated to be called to secure proponents for the design and construction of the facility. It has not yet been decided if the project delivery will be Design/Build or Design/Bid/Build. Further updates may be available in early spring, 2025. *Parkade construction is followed under a separate report. The tower planned for the University Hospital of Northern BC is expected to cost $1.579 billion.
