Addition to a mixed-use development in Leduc, Alberta. Completed plans call for the addition of a 47,401-square-foot, one-story above grade manufacturing facility.
Work of this Contract comprises the following: .1 Construction of an expansion to the existing Agrivalue Processing Business Incubator (APBI). This expansion includes one new processing suite, a mechanical service floor, circulation spaces, shelled spaces for two additional processing suites, and a Welfare Area. The building is designed for future expansion as described below. Also included is the provision of associated utilities and site work. .2 The building is intended to be a food processing facility. Construction shall be in accordance with the federal requirements of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SOR/2018-108). .3 The existing building is also a regulated facility and shall remain operational throughout the work of this project. Interruption of services, contamination, or hazards resulting from demolition or new work may adversely affect functional operation of the facility. The Province advises that dust, contamination, and interruption of services arising from demolition or construction activities must be controlled in a manner acceptable to the Province, CFIA, and other federal requirements of Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SOR/2018-108).
