The Base Bid consists of removal and replacement of a section of pavement on the existing Terminal Apron. The existing asphalt, underlying concrete pavement, and subbase will be removed. Once removed, the subgrade will be fine graded, recompacted, followed by the installation of new subbase, and high early strength concrete. Lastly the sawing and sealing of joints will be completed and pavement marking. Bids shall be prepared and submitted on the prescribed forms in accordance with instructions contained in the Instructions to Bidders and General Provisions (Section 20) Divisions of the Project Manual. Each bidder must deposit with his/her proposal a bid security in an amount equal to at least 5% of the Total Bid Amount (five percent) of his/her Base Bid. Said security shall be in the form and subject to the conditions given in Section 20 of the General Provisions. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Successful bidders must enter into the Agreement and furnish a Contract Bond and evidence of required insurance with fifteen (15) days after notification acceptance of such proposals, all as more specifically required in the Contract Documents.
