Reference number : 1404083 Deadline for receipt of complaints: 2020-10-05 Electronic submission accepted: Yes, in a single submission document Expected duration of the contract (in months): 36 As the owner of escalators subject to the laws, codes and standards in force, the University is responsible for the operation, upkeep and maintenance in good condition of its facilities as soon as they are put into service and must in particular: Ensure that its escalators are in good working order and safe; Ensure that escalators are used for the purpose for which they are designed; Make sure that qualified contractors carry out a maintenance program in accordance with the standards in force and adapted to each escalator covered by the contract; Make sure that qualified contractors carry out the necessary corrective measures to an escalator as soon as dangerous operating conditions and malfunction appear; Ensure, for each of the escalators, that qualified contractors maintain a register of information concerning the maintenance of the appliance, as well as its electrical and control diagrams as well as its security. 1.1.1 Objectives and implementation guidelines Through this call for tenders, the University of Montreal, as owner, wants to fulfill its obligations in accordance with the regulations of the Régie du bâtiment (RBQ) in force. This call for tenders is for maintenance work on 6 escalators serving the Université de Montréal campus and located at the ramp tunnel at 2800, boul. Édouard-Montpetit, Montreal. The maintenance program described in this specification must also be carried out in order to ensure the safety of the public, to extend the life cycle of the equipment, and to minimize unplanned downtime to a minimum. Through its representatives of the Buildings Directorate and the Supply Division, the University of Montreal aims to select a specialized contractor who must provide qualified labor, adequate supervision, equipment, tools, instruments, materials. , and the parts, required to provide a complete maintenance service for its escalators in accordance with the regulations in force, the manufacturer's maintenance program as well as under the terms and conditions provided herein. The specialized contractor must also be able to provide an emergency call and breakdown service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at all times within the maximum time specified in this estimate. This contract is for a firm period of 3 years with no renewal option. The Université de Montréal invites bidders to a visit the purpose of which is to inform them of the extent of the obligations to which they are undertaking and the needs inherent in the call for tenders, to provide additional information on the needs to be satisfy and respond to questions from bidders on any aspect of the tender. After having visited the premises and studied the tender documents , if the tenderer considers that there are ambiguities, omissions, contradictions or if doubts remain as to their meaning, he must submit his questions in writing to the buyer responsible for the file at chantal.rompre@umontreal.ca. Performance bond 10% is required.
