Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Buford, Georgia. Working plans call for site work for a museum; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
Realignment of the existing driveway connection to the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center. The project includes 1,250 LF of driveway, 1,000 LF of guardrail, installation of water, sewer and storm pipe, including all of the clearing, erosion control and grading. Bids are legal and binding upon the bidder when submitted. All bids should be submitted in duplicate. During the pre-bid conference and the bid opening, we ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing. All contractors must submit with bid, a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid. Failure to submit a bid bond with the proper rating will result in the bid being deemed non-responsive. Successful contractor will be required to meet insurance requirements, submit a one hundred percent (100%) performance bond and a one hundred percent (100%) payment bond. Insurance and Bonding Company should be licensed to do business by the Georgia Secretary of State, authorized to do business in Georgia by The Georgia Insurance Department, listed in the Department of Treasury's Publication of Companies holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Surety on Federal Bonds and as acceptable reinsuring companies. The bid bond, payment bond, and performance bond must have an A.M. Best rating of A-5 or higher. Gwinnett County does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the admission or access to its programs or activities. Any requests for reasonable accommodations required by individuals to fully participate in any open meeting, program or activity of Gwinnett County Government should be directed to the ADA Coordinator, Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Center, 770-822-8165. The written bid documents supersede any verbal or written prior communications between the parties. Award will be made to the contractors submitting the lowest responsive and responsible bid. Gwinnett County reserves the right to reject any or all bids to waive technicalities and to make an award deemed in its best interest. Bids may be split or awarded in entirety. Gwinnett County reserves the option to negotiate terms, conditions and pricing with the lowest responsive, responsible bidder(s) at its discretion. The proposed project is the realignment of the existing driveway connection to the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center from Plunketts Road. The project is located at 2020 Clean Water Drive, Buford, GA 30519 and involves land disturbance of 5.4 acres of land associated with the property. As part of the project, site and utility improvements are proposed to serve a future restroom development. The project consists of: o Construction of approximately 1,250 LF of driveway (standard-duty asphalt) o Construction of approximately 1,100 LF of 42" guardrail o Construction of right-turn lane on Plunkett Road o Installation of water, sewer, and storm sewer pipe o Clearing, grubbing, grading and erosion control of approximately 5.4 acres o Construction of cast-in-place wall (maximum height of approximately 15 feet) o Construction of stormwater management pond and associated drainage infrastructure o Construction of restroom facility and associated parking area (3 parking spaces) o Construction of sidewalk improvements o Planting of 35 trees o All associated items, including but not limited to landscaping, demolition, signage, lighting, and miscellaneous hardscape
