Renovation and addition to a medical facility in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 75,347-square-foot medical facility; and for the addition of a 430,000-square-foot medical facility.
The Prince Albert Victoria Hospital Project is anticipated to include a new 8-storey, approx. 40,000m2 acute care tower, replacement of the adult mental health space, and renovations to the existing facility (approx. 7,000 m2). The new tower will feature a heliport on the roof, an expanded emergency department, larger operating rooms, pediatrics, maternity, NICU and new medical imaging, and a First Nations & Metis Cultural space. There will be an increase in the number of hospital beds from 173 to 242, with a shelled space to allow for future expansion that could provide for up to 282 beds in the future. TIMELINE: Construction is underway.
