Site work for a road / highway in Purcellville, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway.
Update: Currently, the intersection of Berlin Turnpike, Eastgate Drive and Patrick Henry Circle (see Attachments 1 for maps showing the location of the intersection) operates at a level of service F during weekday commuter peak hours. This level of service was noted in the most recent traffic study for this area, which was prepared as a part of the Purcellville Gateway proposed expansion of Harris Teeter and the child care center. Purcellville Gateway Traffic Impact Study dated October 27, 2017 and revised on March 2, 2018 shows that the Eastgate Drive and Patrick Henry Circle intersection approaches operate at level of service F during the weekday commuter peak hours under existing conditions (2017). The study identifies a traffic signal as a potential improvement to mitigate the high delay and poor level of service. The Town requested CIP funding from Loudoun County. This project is shown in the Loudoun County CIP as being funded in FY25. Project is included in Town of Purcellville Fiscal Year 2025-2029 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This project will provide for the design and construction of a traffic signal at the Berlin Turnpike (Route 287), Eastgate Drive, and Patrick Henry Circle Intersection. This intersection is adjacent to a major north-south corridor (Route 287) and a major east-west corridor (Route 7) for travel in western Loudoun County. Each year, the County solicits capital project funding requests from Towns within the County for facilities owned by or located within the Town; or for local pedestrian/transportation related improvements that benefit the County or Loudoun County Public Schools Project is in Loudoun County - Procurement capital budget fy 2025 -2030. As of July 3, 2024, project is funded for FY2025. Bidding for design team, contractor and a firm timeline has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
