As of November 16, 2020, the owner has decided not to go to contract on the project at this time. The Project primarily shall consist of reconstructing and widening Zarrow Street and the Zarrow Street / Elliot Street / US-69A Intersection. A PERFORMANCE BOND, PAYMENT BOND and MAINTENANCE BOND in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the Owner, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Zarrow Street shall be widened to a 3-lane roadway from Main Street north to the SH-69A intersection (approximately 2,285 feet) as detailed in the construction plans. The roadway section will be 46-feet wide in total, consisting of two 12-foot lanes, a 14-foot center twoway left-turn lane (TWLTL) and 4-foot outside shoulders. The railroad crossing located approximately 470 feet south of SH-69 will be widened to accommodate the new roadway section. The TWLTL will transition to a designated northbound left-turn lane at the SH-69A intersection. From the railroad crossing north to SH-69A, Zarrow Street will be realigned to the west to line up with Elliot Street. North of SH-69A, Elliot Street will be widened to include both right-hand and left-hand turn lanes for southbound traffic; the widening will extend approximately 400 LF north to the end of the widening taper. All infrastructure to support the installation of a future traffic signal shall be constructed at the intersection of Zarrow Street / Elliott Street / SH 69A including controllers as provided on plans and specifications (excluding poles). The returns for Zarrow Street and Elliot Street at SH-69A will be improved to 60-foot radii to facilitate turning trucks. Driveways and street returns along the extents of this construction will be reconstructed as part of this project. The commercial driveways along Zarrow Street will be delineated as the existing areas of onstreet parking will not be feasible with the widened roadway.
