The City of Easton is seeking an RFP for a Turnkey Police Surveillance system, outdoor within the City. December - Project Start January - Project Completion *****We have a change that came about due to a large scale project within the City Circle. We were not aware of the extent of this project until this morning. The Circle is going to go through a major renovation and the project may take 1-2 years to complete. The light poles and other city poles are going to be moved and placed in different locations. We are unsure what this looks like as the overall plans are just surfacing now. With this said, we are looking for some feedback. 1 – we can pull the RFP and delay any surveillance launch until the circle is complete or at least the poles are relocated to their permanent location. Could be a year out. 2 – we can refocus our surveillance to other areas which we planned on expanding into at a future date. If the solution you are planning is one of line of site with repeaters, the issue will be running Northampton to the police station because the circle will be out of service. If you are planning cellular then this is not quite an issue for you. One possible solution as well is to place cable modems at strategic locations and then wireless feed other access points and cameras. Using the cable modem as the path to the police station. Regardless we The City, need to remap locations and areas to place our surveillance and bypass the circle at this time. We obviously want your input, let us know if this is an issue or not, and whether the cable modem option is workable for those not using cellular. Let us know your thoughts, at this point we are going to extent the deadline should the RFP continue.
