The Detention Basin Spillway Improvements Project consists of proposed work at multiple stormwater detention facilities maintained by Brazoria Drainage District No. 4, which are situated within City of Pearland property. A generalized description of the proposed work is provided below: Bailey Pond Improvements a. Removal and disposal of the existing reinforced concrete overflow spillway which draws water from Cowart Creek into the Bailey Pond. b. Construction of a new reinforced concrete overflow spillway to draw water from Cowart Creek into the Bailey Pond. The new structure will be a multi-staged overflow spillway. c. Placement and compaction of backfill to establish EL 45.75 along the entire maintenance berm of Bailey Pond. d. Desilting of Cowart Creek between the existing RCB crossing and the proposed reinforced concrete overflow spillway. Cowart Creek Regional Detention Facility Improvements a. Installation of four (4) 3-foot wide by 2-foot tall RCBs to draw water from Hood Ditch into Pond B of the Cowart Creek Regional Detention Facility. Additionally install reinforced concrete pavement erosion protection for the new RCBs. b. Construction of a new reinforced concrete overflow spillway to draw water from Hood Ditch into Pond B of the Cowart Creek Regional Detention Facility. c. Saw-cut the existing multi-staged weir and overflow spillway that draws water from Dare Ditch into Pond A of the Cowart Creek Regional Detention Facility.
