As of March 30, 2022, an engineer has been selected for the project. This project is expected to go out for bid in late spring. A firm timeline for construction has not been established, though it may start in early summer 2022. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The services include preparation of construction contract plans for the reconstruction of E. Broad St (Cedar St to Abbe Rd (S)) in Lorain County with a project length of approximately 1.32 mile. Proposed improvements will include planing and resurfacing of the existing pavement; widening the pavement between Prospect Avenue and Abbe Road; replacement of concrete sidewalk and curb ramps; replacement of traffic signals; and new pavement markings and signage. The Scope of Services for this project will include: Resurface East Broad Street from Cedar Street to South Abbe Road. Install a two-way left turn lane within the existing pavement width from East River Street to Prospect Avenue. Widen the existing asphalt pavement on East Broad Street from Prospect Avenue to South Logan Avenue to 34 feet to accommodate a two-way left turn lane. Replace the existing concrete sidewalk and curb ramps from East River Street to South Abbe Road. Replace the traffic signals at the Cedar, East River Street; Park Place/Park Avenue; and Prospect Avenue intersections with new installations on mast arms. Remove the existing traffic signal at the South Logan Avenue intersection
