Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Greensboro, North Carolina. Working plans call for the construction of a 40,000-square-foot fire / police facility; for site work for a 185-cell sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for the demolition of a fire / police facility.
The scope of this project is to reroute the existing inmate transport tunnel around the vacated Law Enforcement Center (LEC) located at 401 W. Sycamore Street, Greensboro, NC, demolish the LEC, and build a new two-story building of approximately 40,000 square feet with basement storage and parking for the Sheriffs Administrative Offices on the LEC site. The existing parking deck will be partially demolished to the structural elements to allow re-use for new construction. This project will also include demolition of the existing Sheriffs Administrative Office Building on the adjacent lot (220 S. Eugene Street) once the new building is occupied and construct a surface parking lot on its site consisting of approximately 185 parking spaces. Design was initiated for this project on September 17, 2020. The anticipated date of completion for the design is August 2021. New Building - 401 W.
