Renovation of a transportation facility in Pollocksville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade transportation facility.
Bid proposals are solicited as follows: Single Prime bids for providing site, general, plumbing, mechanical and electrical construction tradework. Proposals are lump sum. Clearly indicate bidder names and license numbers on bid envelopes. Within the Base Bid, the General Contractor constructs a replacement masonry crawlspace foundation on the relocation site. The General Contractor terminates building utilities at the demolition site, lifts the current structure and moves it 0.25 miles. The structure is lowered and placed on the replacement foundation. The General Contractor restores a conventional wood frame building of approximately 2,029 square feet. The building consists of one story. Exterior walls are dutch siding on wood framing backup. Roofing is a sloped, modified cap, roll roofing system. Interior work consists of typical wood framed partition walls and ceilings sheathed with gypsum board, beadboard and shiplap siding. Interior finishes are typical of commercial building types. Plumbing distribution supports typical commercial toilet facilities. Mechanical distribution delivers conditioned air via natural gas furnace split system equipment controlled by thermostat. Electrical service consists of a 200 amp Main Distribution Panel with 120/240 Volt, Single Phase, Three Wire distribution. Remove masonry foundations, concrete footers and appurtenant site improvements from the demolition site. Import sand fill, dress grade and provide seeding to restore the site. In lieu thereof, a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent of the bid from a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit is retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten days after award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. A performance bond and a payment bond are required for one hundred percent of the contract price. The Owner reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all bid proposals and to waive informalities.
