Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Jackson, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The scope of work shall consist of asphalt milling and overlay along North State Street, for approximately 1.08 miles, from the intersection of Sheppard Road to the intersection of Briarwood Drive. The project scope also includes sidewalk replacement, curb and gutter replacement, installation of pedestrian push buttons, striping, installation of 170-ft of ADA compliant pedestrian handrail, traffic control and construction phasing. The project will be designed in accordance with the Mississippi Standard Specification for Road and Bridge Construction, Mississippi Department of Transportation, Jackson, 2017 Edition. The scope of project features outlined above does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor, equipment and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. Contract time shall be 72 working days from the effective date shown in the Notice to Proceed. The contract Documents are on file and may be examined at the following locations: 1. Engineering Division, Department of Public Works, Warren Hood Building, 4th Floor, 200 S. President Street, Jackson, Mississippi 39205. 2. EJES, Incorporated, 405 Briarwood Drive, Suite 110, Jackson, Mississippi 39206 Liquidated Damages will be assessed in accordance with the Schedule of Deductions table in Section 108.07 of the 2017 Edition of the Mississippi Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction The attention of bidders is directed to the Contract Provisions governing selection and employment of labor. Minimum wage rates for Federal-Aid Projects have been predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and are subject to Public Law 87-581 Work Hours Act of 1962, as set forth in the Contract Provisions. The City of Jackson, Hinds County, hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged and women's business enterprises will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The award of this contract will be contingent upon the Contractor satisfying the 5% DBE/WBE requirements. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Cashier's check, Certified Check on a solvent bank or a Bidder's Bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to operate in the State of Mississippi, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, payable to the City of Jackson as bid security. Bidders shall also submit a current financial statement, if requested by the County. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Work to be performed shall be in accordance with the "Mississippi State Highway Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2017", together with all amendments and/or special provisions and/or addenda to the standards duly approved and adopted, unless otherwise noted in these specifications. A pre-bid meeting will be held in the Commission Room on the 1 st Floor of the MDOT Administration Building in Jackson, at 2:00 P.M. on the day preceding the date of the bid opening.
