Saving Project...

Site work and renovation of a civil project in Austin, Texas. Working plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of April 1, 2022, the owner has selected a Construction Manager for this project. A timeline for construction is not available at this time. The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is looking to pre-qualify contractors for the Wirtz Dam Floodgates Ph II Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) project. LCRA is a conservation and reclamation district created by the Texas Legislature in 1934. It has no taxing authority and operates solely on utility revenues and fees generated from supplying energy, water and community services. In CMAR, the owner retains a design engineer and a CMAR firm under separate contracts. The design engineer designs the project while the CMAR firm provides construction-related advice during design development and acts as general contractor if the owner and CMAR firm can agree to a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Anticipated Release Date for RFP November 16, 2020 Anticipated Contract Award Date April 08, 2021 Anticipated Project Construction Start Date March 2022 Project Introduction LCRA currently plans to replace and/or refurbish the Wirtz Dam tainter gates and gate hoist bridges to address corrosion issues and structural deficiencies with respect to modern tainter gate design. The project is organized into two Phases: Phase 1 - Preparation of a Phase 1 Engineering Report Phase 2 - Replacement/refurbishment of Wirtz Dam floodgates and gate hoist bridges LCRA has completed Phase 1 of this project. Based on the Phase 1 report, LCRA decided to replace all 10 tainter gates (Gates 1 through 10) and 9 hoist bridges (for Gates 2 through 10). (Note: based on further investigation, Gate 1 and the hoist bridges for Gates 2 through 10 have the potential to be upgraded/refurbished.) LCRA has chosen the Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) delivery method for this project. All contractors who meet the requirements of this Pre-Qualification as described in Sections 2 and 3 below will receive and be allowed to participate in the RFP that is to follow. Firms that do not meet the Pre-Qualification requirements will not be eligible to participate in the RFP process. Any questions during this process shall be directed to Gabriela Harthcock at gabriela.harthcock@lcra.org or Laura Guillory at laura.guillory@lcra.org. Any direct communication with other LCRA staff or Board Members may result in the disqualification of your Pre-Qualification and negate your ability to participate in the RFP. Project Location Wirtz Dam is located on the Colorado River in Llano and Burnet Counties near the city of Marble Falls, Texas, 387 miles upstream from the Gulf of Mexico and about 45 miles northwest of Austin. The dam construction was begun in 1949 and completed in 1950.
