Renovation of a mixed-use development in Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development; and multi-residential development.
The Work consists of furnishing all means, methods, labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation and services for performing the Sound Insulation work as shown on the Construction Modifications and as described in the Technical Specifications, including all appurtenant work and accessories, to the complete satisfaction of, approval and acceptance by the City. This includes, but is not limited to, alterations and modifications of approximately two hundred twenty-five (225) dwelling units in the area surrounding Chicago O'Hare International Airport ("Homes"), consisting of single-family and multi-family residences in various communities. Homes are single-family or multi-family structures up to three (3) stories in height, including apartments and condominiums; and vary in construction type, external materials and style. The residential construction documents for the work on the Homes will be provided to the Contractor(s) with the Notice-To-Proceed for the Contract. Additional scope information is included in Section 6 of this Part One, Project Description and Special Procedures. A general location map of Homes included in the Project is included in Section 7 of this Part One. This description of work is intended to be general in nature and is neither a complete description nor a limitation on the Work to be performed. Contractor must perform all Work described in the Contract Documents or reasonably inferable as necessary to produce the results specified therein, except to the extent specifically indicated in the Contract Documents to be the responsibility of others. Estimated Project Cost: $5,850,000.00 - $7,350,000.00 For this Project, a bid deposit is required in the amount of 2% of the Contract Base Bid in the form of a bond, or the equivalent in cashier's check, money order or certified check. DBE Goal: 19% Bids will be compared based on the Contract Base Bid, correctly computed, and a contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, as determined by the Chief Procurement Officer, in the amount of the Contract Base Bid. The Bidder may withdraw its bid at any time prior to the date and time for bid opening. Thereafter, the Bidder may not withdraw or cancel its Bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the bid opening date. The ninety (90) day period will not be extended without the signed written consent of the Bidder to extend the bid on the same terms and conditions. The ninety (90) day period for bid withdrawal is tolled for any period of time that the Bidder requires to submit any necessary contract document to the City including, but not limited to, bonds, Economic Disclosure Statements, Insurance Certificates, and compliance schedules. C.D.T. on TBD 2020, or no response will be provided except at the discretion of the Chief Procurement Officer.
