Development of a new park in the Quartier des Spectacles. The scope of the project includes the development of the lot 066 with a total area of 9,520 m2, located between De Maisonneuve Boulevard, De Bleury Street, Du Président Kennedy Avenue and Jeanne-Mance Street and surrounding areas. This sector, previously used as a municipal parking lot, has recently undergone a significant real estate development including municipal and private buildings. The project includes the development of the unoccupied lot areas to develop green spaces, park and vegetation areas. The chosen concept proposes a pedestrian walkway, which will have an educational, inclusive and participatory character, and which will overlook an urban forest with a dense plantation of indigenous species, based on the Miyawaki method. Bioretention basins will capture runoff water, with the objective of ecological transition. Bleachers will allow a variety of uses as well as an alternative route to that of the footbridge. TIMELINE: The project planning has been stopped at the conceptual stage due to the construction in the concerned area of a new Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) project. The MAC construction projet is experiencing significant delays and is expected to be completed in 2026. According to the currently available information the construction of the Le Jardin d'Emiliano project may not begin before 2027, after the completion of the MAC project.
