Renovation of a religious / funeral development in Toledo, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a religious / funeral development.

As of January 7, 2020, the owner hired the Toledo Design Collective and Rudolph-Libbe for $10,000 to analyze the feasibility of possible uses for the property and to figure out costs for each design scenario. The firms investigated whether five scenarios, or a combination of them, would be feasible: a multi-purpose gathering space, residential units, a marketplace, a gymnasium, or a health clinic. They came up with six concepts with price tags ranging from $2.9 million to $12.2 million. Option 1: At $2.9 million, this would restore St. Anthony to a habitable place of worship or gathering space. Option 2: At $3.8 million, this would restore St. Anthony just like Option 1 but would also include a 2,500-square-foot addition that could house restrooms, a kitchen, and a warming space to complement a large outdoor multi-purpose event space. Option 3: At $7.8 million, this would also restore St. Anthony just like Option 1 but would also include a three-story, 25,500-square-foot addition that could house a health clinic, business incubators, and space for job training or education Option 4: At $8.8 million, this concept is nearly identical to Option 3 but would enclose the space between St. Anthony and the new addition, mostly with glass, to create a lobby. Option 5: At $12 million, this concept is one of two that contemplates adding residential space to the site. It would restore St. Anthony to a gathering or multi-purpose space but add a four-story addition that would include a health clinic on the first floor and 33 single-bedroom apartments on upper floors. Option 6: At $12.5 million, this concept calls for the church to be partially demolished while preserving the iconic facade. A five-story building would be constructed within the church's original footprint and could include a health clinic and up to 40 affordable or senior-housing apartments. *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
