For Construction of the Bogue Chitto River Bank Stabilization Project The above general summary of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. Contract time shall be Seventy-five(75) Calendar Days from the effective date shown in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed at a rate of $1,000 per day for each consecutive calendar day the work has not achieved Final Completion. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State Law and show Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. The project shall be substantially completed and operational by March 26, 2021. The Owner reserves the right to waive any formalities or to reject any and all bids. Bids will be awarded on Total Bid Price and the Bidders ability to perform the work as specified within the completion dates stated above. A 5% bid bond will be required on this project. The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the bid. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Payment Bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their power of attorney. Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate, sealed and deposited, at the Pike County Board of Supervisors Board Room, 175 S. Cherry Street, Magnolia, Mississippi 39652, prior to the hour and date above designated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Awarding public contracts to non-resident Bidders will be on the same basis as the non-resident Bidders state awards Contractors to Mississippi Contractors bidding under similar circumstances. In order to ensure that Mississippis so called Golden Rule is followed, state law requires a non-resident Bidder to attach to his bid a copy of his resident states current laws pertaining to such states treatment of non-resident Contractors. The Pike County Board of Supervisors is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The Pike County Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged and womens business enterprises will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
