Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Brooklyn, Ohio. Completed plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; and fire / police facility.

As of March 17, 2023, this project is under construction. A general contractor has been selected but not confirmed. Construction is expected to be completed soon but an exact date has not been established. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. The proposed Brooklyn Police, Court Facility and City Hall is to be constructed on a parcel of 14.11 acres located on Memphis Avenue north of the current City Hall and Police Facility. It is estimated that the facility will be approximately 60,000 square feet. Due to the topography of the parcel, it may lend itself to the design of a single or two story facility. The portion of the site that is developed is to have an adequate landscape plan consistent with other city facilities, conducive with security planning and with an adequate exterior lighting design. The design shall consider materials that will create a low level of maintenance and a high level of security. Although not seeking LEED Certification, we seek an energy efficient facility both within and with the exterior of the facility. Basic elements and use within this facility are in part Executive, Supervisory, Patrol, Interviewing and Investigative Offices; Locker Rooms with shower and bathroom facilities; Lobby for public entry for both Police and Court/City Hall; Public Restrooms; Court Offices; Court Room that has dual purpose use by both Police and City Council; Dispatch Area/Record Room; Arms and Armor Storage; Evidence Room and Storage; Interior parking garage for official vehicles, tactical vehicles, and processing of non-police vehicles; Jail Holding Facility (State Standards Approved design of holding room, booking area); Juvenile Holding, Impaired Suspect Testing; City hall administrative offices; other elements and features of the facility to be determined.
