The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a contract for General Construction of Water Mains, Large Services and Appurtenances. The Suffolk County Water Authority requires, pursuant to New York Labor Law Section 816-b, all Contractors and Subcontractors shall have, apprenticeship agreements appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed under this Contract, that are registered with and approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor pursuant to the requirements of New York Labor Law Article 23. Evidence of such agreements for both contractors and subcontractors, if any, must be submitted with the bid. Minority and Women Owned Businesses are encouraged to bid. Each proposal from a Contractor must be accompanied by a bank/cashier's check, or bid bond made payable to the Suffolk County Water Authority in the amount of: Group I - $20,000. Group II - $20,000. Prior to execution of the contract, the successful bidder shall be required to furnish, at his expense, a Performance Bond, in such form as prescribed by the Authority, in the Amount of: Group I - $200,000, Group II - $200,000 or, in lieu of such Performance Bond, a Certified Check, or a Letter of Credit (Letter of Credit Expiration date shall be one-month past the contract expiration date), satisfactory to Suffolk County Water Authority together with an Indemnification Agreement in such form as prescribed by the Authority. This contract is for an initial term of one (1) year; February 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022.
