The contracting office is the Public Works Department. The location of the project is in the County of Los Alamos, New Mexico. The goal of this project is to insert a liner through an existing water main for a stretch of approximately 2400 feet adjacent to Pajarito Road near the intersection of Diamond Drive and Pajarito Road to address multiple leaks reported in the area. 1) There will be two (2) dig sites at each end of the project boundary - see project plans. a) The first work area (east pit) will be in the parking lot adjacent to Pajarito Road and TA-59. b) The second work area (west pit) will be in the parking lot in between the bend in Pajarito Road and the canyon (west of the intersection of Pajarito Road and Diamond Drive). 2) Each pit will be approximately 12' W X 6' L X 8' D - see project plans for details 3) This will be a trenchless build using a slip lining process - see project plans and specifications 4) At the west pit, a 16" valve will be installed - see project plans and specifications. 5) East of the east pit, replacement of 40 feet of CCP pipe with 16" DIP. 6) Contractor is responsible for rehabilitation of all disturbed areas associated with project activities including backfill, compaction (modified Proctor and density testing per plans and specifications), grading, concrete and asphalt patching / replacement - see project plans and specifications. 7) Base bid includes cleaning the waterline with high pressure water jetting, pigging, minor repairs achievable by robot and containing/disposal of cleaning wastewater in the sanitary sewer 8)An allowance of $20,000 is included if there are unknown conditions encountered in the existing pipe that require cleaning measures beyond item 6 above, excavation or structural repair. If required, repairs paid for by the allowance will be paid per the Conditions of the Contract, 3.2.14 Changes in the Work. *This project timeline has been extended due to the public health crisis.
