Solicitation No. BTLRRH-01 Project Limits : N/A County : State Wide Provide a traffic engineer with 10+ years' experience for approximately 20-30 hours per week. Apply traffic engineering skills relevant to traffic signal analysis, including extensive knowledge of the components within a traffic signal cabinet. Detailed knowledge of railroad operations is required to integrate the traffic signal system with the railroad detection system. Objectives include communicating system requirements to state, local and railroad stakeholders and developing calculations for advance warning time to provide intersection clearance upon train arrival. This work will require field visits to preempted signal/intersection locations throughout the state to develop expertise within the department's region traffic signal engineers in completing annual field inspections, as required by Federal Railroad Administration. As needed, extend help to local signal owners/maintainers that do not have expertise in performing these inspections.
