This contract is subject to a 7.24% MBE and a 3.6% WBE participation requirement CONTRACT No. 6522 (CPI) Q And A Open: 22/12/2021 23:35:01 Q And A Close: 13/01/2022 03:30:00 The work includes: furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the installation of up to 5,300 linear feet of a new 24-inch MWRA water main and appurtenances and up to 5,300 linear feet of new 16-inch Town of Lexington water main and appurtenances. The Work to be performed under this Contract includes: a. Approximately 5,200 linear feet of 24-inch diameter ductile iron water main and seven (7) gate valves and chambers. b. Transfer of water service connections and fire hydrants from the Town of Lexington 8-inch main to their 16-inch main and removal of approximately 3,660 feet of 8-inch Town of Lexington water main. c. Removal of approximately 5,100 feet of 16-inch Town of Lexington cast iron water main and replacement with 16-inch ductile iron pipe including hydrants, service connections, and side street connections. d. Temporary bypass piping to provide uninterrupted water service to residents. 2. Furnishing and installing valves, precast valve chambers, air valve assemblies and chambers, blow-off assemblies and chambers, and all appurtenant work. 3. Removal, handling, transportation and disposal of rock, soil and groundwater along the pipeline routes. 4. Restoration of all disturbed areas and utilities impacted by the work. 5. Initial dewatering of the existing water mains; filling, pressure/leakage testing and disinfection; dechlorination and flushing of all installed water mains.
