The City of Tucker, Georgia is seeking competitive bids for the construction of traffic signal improvements on Brockett/Cooledge Road @ US 78. The scope of work includes the signal modification for the intersection of Chamblee Tucker Road at Livsey Road. The contractor shall follow the plans and GDOT standards and details needed to complete construction. The project will add new signal heads, required cables, and replace one timber pole, and transfer existing signage and pedestrian signals. The contractor will be responsible for any step to modify the signal cabinet to allow for additional phasing. The contractor will be responsible for visiting the site to assess conditions prior to biding to ensure a comprehensive bid can be completed. The overall purpose is to improve the safety and operations of the intersection. Any bid equal to or greater than $100,000 must be accompanied by a bid bond (see Exhibit D) of a reputable bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Georgia, in an amount equal to a least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Bids equal to or greater than $100,000 will also require the successful contractor to provide a performance and payment bond (for any subcontractor). Upon Notice of Award, the successful contractor shall submit a Performance Bond payable to the City of Tucker in the amount of 100% of the total contract price. The successful contractor shall submit a Payment Bond for work being done by a subcontractor pursuant to O.C.G.A. 36-91-70 and 90.kimnb The City of Tucker reserves the right to reject any and all qualifications or any part and to waive any formalities or informalities to make an award in the best interest of the City.
