EN00-292-261 UPC#107921 The Project consists of constructing approximately 3,500 linear feet of 5ft. wide sidewalk, curb and gutter, storm water drainage improvements, construction and demolition of retaining walls, and related appurtenances in Rural Retreat, VA. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis, with deductive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Contract Licensing BIDDER'S attention is invited to the requirements of Section 54.1 of the Code of Virginia pertaining to registration which specifies the following with regard to contractor licensure and registration by definition: "Class A contractors" perform or manage construction, removal, repair, or improvements when (i) the total value referred to in a single contract or project is $120,000 or more, or (ii) the total value of all such construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by such person within any 12-month period is $750,000 or more. "Class B contractors" perform or manage construction, removal, repair, or improvements when (i) the total value referred to in a single contract or project is $7,500 or more, but less than $120,000, or (ii) the total value of all such construction, removal, repair or improvements undertaken by such person within any 12-month period is $150,000 or more, but less than $750,000. Bids may be submitted by contractors with pending license applications. Contractor licensures must be approved within 60 days of the bid opening date. The bidder shall show evidence of being a VDOT prequalified contractor. Evidence of being a VDOT prequalified contractor shall be included with the submitted bid. A list of VDOT prequalified contractors can be found electronically. Bids may be submitted by contractors with pending VDOT prequalification applications. Contractor must be approved by VDOT within 60 days of the bid opening date. This project is federally funded and has disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) requirements. There will be a 7% disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) goal assigned to this project. The bidder shall show evidence of meeting the disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) requirements.
