The work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to, Mechanical dredging, dewatering and upland disposal of an estimated +-658 cubic yards (CY) of sediments from the existing boat ramp access channel located at the Blish Point Public Access Facility in Barnstable Harbor.Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) policies of the Town of Barnstable are applicable. The "Fair Share" construction requirement for this project is a minimum of 10.4% combined MBE/WBE participation by state certified MBEs and WBEs.The project site is located within Barnstable Harbor at Blish Point in Barnstable, MA (Figure 1). Barnstable Harbor is a natural harbor that is sheltered by Sandy Neck to the north and the Town of Barnstable to the south. The harbor is located10 miles eastward of the Cape Cod Canal entrance and provides the approach to the north side of the Town of Barnstable. Navigation into/out of Barnstable Harbor is provided by the established entrance channel that provides access to/from the InnerHarbor and the Blish Point Public Access Facility which supports recreational, commercial and transient boating activities as well as private commercial marineoperations and services. Present conditions show that the entire channel has filled-in, and there is very limited water depth existing during periods of low tide. This channel requires periodic maintenance dredging on a 1 to 3 year basis and is presently overdue.
