Harris County is soliciting bids for drainage improvement in the Almeda Heights Subdivision for Precinct 1 This project consists of the construction of drainage improvements to relieve the localized flooding that the subdivision experiences during heavy rain events. These drainage improvements consist of regrading 1,850 linear feet of existing roadside ditches at 0.1%., removing and replacement of 825 linear feet of Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) culverts ranging in size from 18 to 30, installation of 630 square yards of 6 reinforce concrete driveways. Other improvements include the installation of a junction box at the southwest corner of Fellows Road and Labrador Road. 1. Preparation of Right of Way: Removal of trees, shrubs, other landscaping features not designated for preservation, stumps, fences, brush, logs, curb and gutter, driveways, pavement and paved parking areas, miscellaneous stone, brick, concrete, sidewalks, drainage structures, manholes, inlets, abandoned utilities, scrap iron, rubbish and debris, if within the right-of-way or designated easements. It is the duty and responsibility of the Contractor to locate all live utility facilities, within the right-of way or designated easements and to protect these facilities, except when instructed on the plans to do otherwise. Remove and relocate traffic signs. 2. Remove and Dispose of Existing Culverts and Driveways: Remove and Dispose of approximately 890 feet of RCP culverts ranging in size from 18 to 36. Remove and Dispose of approximately 234 square yards of concrete driveway and 12 square yards of concrete sidewalk. Remove and Dispose of approximately 735 square yards of asphalt/gravel driveways. Remove and Dispose of approximately 145 square yards of asphaltic surface and base material in roadways while removing culverts. 3. Regrade Existing Roadside Ditches: Regrade approximately 1,850 linear feet of existing roadside ditches at 0.1%. 4. Replace Driveways and Culverts: Install approximately 825 linear feet of RCP culverts ranging in size from 18 to 30. Install approximately 630 square yards of 6 reinforce concrete driveways. Replace approximately 300 square yards of asphaltic surface and base material in roadways. 5. Install Junction Box: Install 7 x 7 Junction Box at the southwest corner of Fellows Road and Labrador Road. 6. SWPPP: Furnish, Install, & Remove approximately 450 linear feet of filter fabric fence, concrete truck washout structure, and rock filter dam at outfall into HCFCD ditch. 7. Traffic Control: Furnish, Install & Remove Traffic Control items. The Work will be completed and ready for Final Payment in accordance with paragraph 6.5 of the General Conditions within 60 calendar days after the date when the Contract Time commences to run The performance and/or payment bond shall be in the amount equal to the amount of money to be paid by the County under the contract, unless otherwise stated, and shall be executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas
