Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of a mixed-use development in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 4,052-square-foot laboratory facility; for asbestos abatement for a laboratory facility; and for site work for a laboratory facility.

In general the work consists of: removal of approximately 4,052 square feet of asbestos containing vinyl floor tile and asbestos containing tile adhesive, as well as vinyl cove base, in lab 172 and the adjoining storage rooms and offices. An asbestos abatement company will be contracted for the removal of the vinyl tile and adhesive, as well as any base trim to be removed. A small 400 square foot classroom space within the main lab 172 will have worn carpet removed as well. The concrete substrate will be patched and repaired in areas that concrete has spalled or where machinery was previously attached to the floor. The floor will then be ground, polished to a cream finish and sealed for use. New vinyl cove base will be installed around the perimeter of all the rooms. NOTICE: All potential bidders must become certified by DOA prior to submitting bids on state construction projects with budgets over $50,000. All bids received from contractors who are not certified will be rejected. These changes take effect January 1, 2014. The 2017-2019 Wisconsin State Budget (2017 Wisconsin Act 59) repealed Wisconsin's prevailing wage laws. Effective September 23, 2017, state prevailing wage requirements on state building projects no longer apply. These changes take effect for projects advertised for bid after September 23, 2017. This change does not affect the Federal Davis Bacon Act requirements.
