Site work and paving for a road / highway in Fremont Township, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
In 2019, the District received grant funding assistance through the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) to purchase a 99-acre parcel at Ray Lake Forest Preserve. The LWCF grant requires public access improvements on the parcel, including a trail connection to the Fort Hill Trail and a scenic overlook. As of February 22, 2022, this project is in the preliminary design phase with owner in-house staff. The owner has plans to select and engineer in the coming months. It is anticipated bidding will commence later this year 2022, with construction starting in fall 2022 or late winter 2022/early spring 2023. This project is included in the Lake County Forest Preserve District's FY 2022-2026 CIP. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
