Loudoun County is working on developing the 90% design plans which will be submitted for review to VDOT and Loudoun County Building and Development in winter 2024. Following the reviews, the design plans will reach the next phase, 100% design. This project will design and construct a shared-use path, sidewalk and drainage improvements along the north side of West Colonial Highway (Business Route 7) in the Town of Hamilton. The shared-use path is proposed to extend from the existing shared-use path near Green Top Drive, just east of Berlin Turnpike (Route 287) in the Town of Purcellville, to North Reid Street (Route 1106). The shared-use path will then transition to a sidewalk at North Reid Street and continue to the existing sidewalk east of South Hughes Street (Route 709) in the Town of Hamilton. Project is in Loudoun County - Procurement capital budget FY 2025 -2030. As of October 18, 2024, project is in design. A general contractor has not yet been selected. Bid is expected to take place between Winter/Spring 2027, with construction in Fall 2027. Completion expected Fall 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
