Renovation of an educational facility in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
General Bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work, Doors and Windows, and must include a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Update Statement. Every General Bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), in the form of a bid bond in a form satisfactory to the Brooke Charter School, with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and conditioned upon the faithful performance by the principal of the agreements contained in the respective general bid, and made payable to the Brooke Charter School Additional sets may be purchased for $50.00 SAME AS PLAN DEPOSIT. Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight) The Contract Documents may be examined at, but not removed from, the following location during normal business hours: Nashoba Blue Inc. 433 Main Street Hudson, MA 01749 978-568-1167 Each bidder is advised to visit the site of the proposed work, become fully acquainted with conditions as they exist, and thoroughly examine the Contract Documents. Failure of any bidder to visit the site and to examine the Contract Documents shall in no way relieve the bidder from any obligation with regard to the bid as submitted. Arrangements for site visitation, during the bidding period, may be made in the manner set forth in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The successful General Bidder will be required to provide a performance bond, and a labor and materials payment bond, issued by a company authorized to do business in Massachusetts and satisfactory to the Awarding Authority, each bond being in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Amount. The minimum wages to be paid for all labor on the project are established in a schedule issued by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, in accordance with Section 26A - 27D inclusive, of Chapter 149 of the M.G.L., as amended, said schedule being made a part of the Contract Documents and is included therein. Materials, equipment and supplies to be used on this project are exempt from sales tax to the extent provided by M.G.L. Chapter 64H, Section 6(f). The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 45 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids. The Brooke Charter School reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Brooke Charter School. The Brooke Charter School is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and encourages participation from certified minority and women-owned businesses. The Work consists of the following: 1. Removal and replacement of metal windows, and associated work in and around Gymnasium. 2. Removal of Gymnasium metal windows and replace with Fiberglass Sandwich Panel Assembly. 3. Removal and replacement of mechanical louvers, and associated work as indicated.
