The scope is expected to include new safety and security measures, technology improvements, overhaul or replacement of all classrooms and science labs, overhaul or replacement of special education classrooms, overhaul or replacement of gyms, locker rooms and physical education support spaces, overhaul or replacement of student dining and kitchen, overhaul or replacement of auditorium, overhaul or replacement of main office and main entrance to include secured vestibule, replace old exterior windows with new energy efficient windows in spaces receiving renovations, complete overhaul and update to mechanical systems to meet more the latest energy efficiency and Indoor Air Quality standards, new sports fields, new or replacement outdoor learning opportunities, and re-paving and re-surfacing parking lots and driveways. A bond referendum was approved in November 2020. Proposition A, which is $1.21 billion, would address renovation needs for 36 campuses, provide safety upgrades and replace air conditioning chillers that are more than 15 years old. Proposition B, which is $90 million, would equip every classroom with high-speed connectivity, audio systems, devices, support tools, interactive smart boards and more necessary infrastructure. As of June 7, 2022, this project is in design development. A construction manager at risk has been selected.
