Estimate : $5M - $ 5.5M. This is a single prime contract. Bid Bond: A deposit is required with the submission of the bid. When a deposit is required, the bidder must submit with the bid cash or a certified check, drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do business in the State of North Carolina, payable to Cape Fear Public Utility Authority, in an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that a contract will be entered into and that satisfactory performance and payment bonds will be executed. In lieu of making the cash deposit above described, a satisfactory bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of the State of North Carolina to execute such bonds, shall be submitted with each bid, conditioned that the surety will upon demand forthwith make payment to the obligee upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK. A. The Work to be performed under these Contract Documents is generally described as follows: 1. Construction of the new Southern New Hanover County (NHC) Regional Pump Station with two (2) self-priming centrifugal pumps, fiberglass pump enclosure, precast wetwell, precast flow meter vault, electrical building, standby engine-generator, and miscellaneous yard structures and site work. 2. Furnish and installation of influent force mains consisting of approximately 2,000 linear feet of 10-inch sewer, 2,700 linear feet of 8-inch sewer, and 200 linear feet of 8-inch sewer to connect three existing pump stations to the Southern NHC Regional Pump Station. 3. Furnish and installation of discharge force main consisting of approximately 10,000 linear feet of 16-inch sewer from the new Southern NHC Regional Pump Station to the CFPUA Motts Creek Pump Station No. 69. The project will include pipeline installation using both open cut and trenchless methods. 4. The project generally includes, but is not limited to, all clearing, grading, erosion control, cleaning, testing, and all other work necessary to furnish, install, test, and place into service the Southern NHC Regional Pump Station and its associated influent and effluent force mains in Wilmington, North Carolina.
