The project consists of furnishing all material and constructing the following: Installation of a floating dock, concrete abutment, site improvements, site electrical improvements, and floating dock utility installation. Including all necessary appurtenances and site restoration. The work to be performed under this contract will be financed and paid for by funds received from local funds and the State of Michigan Waterways Commission. A bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check payable to City of Ludington in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price shall accompany each bid. This surety shall bind the bidder for a period of forty-five (45) days after the receipt of bids. Contractor covenants and agrees with the Owner that it and each of its subcontractors shall not discriminate against an employee or applicant for employment with respect to hire, tenure, terms, conditions or privileges of employment or a matter directly or indirectly related to employment, because of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, height, weights, or marital status and shall cause a similar covenant to be placed in all contracts with subcontractors. A breach of this covenant will be considered a material breach of this Agreement between the Owner and Contractor, including all subcontractors of Contractor. It is the intention of the Owner to award this contract to a Bidder that will perform and complete all work in compliance with the Contract Documents and in a workmanlike and professional manner. Therefore, the Owner may accept or reject any bid received and may select the bidder best qualified in the opinion of the Owner. The work shall be substantially complete by June 17, 2022, and final completion by July 1, 2022.
