The State University Construction Fund is seeking statements of qualifications from firms to provide Construction Management Services for the following project: Crawford Hall was constructed in 1976 and is a 3-story steel frame masonry clad building at 63,274 gsf. Crawford Hall is the campus primary laboratory/science building with the biology and chemistry laboratories located in the east wing of the building. The building is L-shaped with the lecture hall, classrooms and faculty offices located in the east/west wing and the science laboratories and related faculty office located at the east end of the building, running north and south. The two wings are separated by a vestibule circulation space on all three floors. For nomenclature the east end, north/south wing will be referred to as the Science Wing and the east/west wing will be referred to as the Classroom Wing. Renovations of the common space/vestibule area on all three floors is included in this project. The roof and most of the roof top fume hood exhaust fans were replaced in 2019. The elevator is planned to be replaced with a targeted elevator replacement project. The building restrooms located in the Classroom Wing were renovated in 2020. The building offices, laboratories and classrooms are largely untouched by renovation and are in poor condition. The laboratories are the only general lab spaces for teaching science courses on the campus. The rooms are in poor condition from past roof and heating distribution system leaks, many of the fume hoods and lab sinks no longer function properly and the gas supply to some of the lab benches has been shut off due to poor conditions and leaks. The overall finishes in the labs are in fair to poor condition. Complete renovation of the three-floor lab wing of the building. Work includes, abatement, demolition, new walls, finishes, lab benches, hoods, HVAC, FP, Electrical.
