Renovation of an educational facility in Ellensburg, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The work consists of providing and installing electronic door and access control hardware and systems on approximately 220 exterior doors at 28 buildings on campus. $1,200,000 - $1,400,000 1. Bid form, properly filled out and signed 2. Appropriate Bid Bond, properly executed Upon receipt of electronic submission, the University will acknowledge receipt of the bid by replying to the email address associated with the bid. Shortly after 4:00 PM Pacific Time, a tabulation of the bids received will be provided by the University by replying to the email address associated with the bid. Prior to one hour after 2:00 pm on December 18, 2020, submit Form A, (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical). Form A is to be e-mailed to keith.jones@cwu.edu There is no Structural Steel or Rebar in the project, therefor Form B will not be required. To accommodate the desire for interested bidders to become more knowledgeable of the existing conditions effecting the work, the Owner will provide an opportunity for bidders to schedule a site visit. Bidders who would like to make a site visit shall contact Keith Jones at Keith.Jones@cwu.edu, 509-856-6219 or Bill Lovell at William.Lovell@cwu.edu, 509-929-6877 to schedule a time. Site visits will be scheduled for a one-hour time frame during normal business hours, up through the 16th of December. Bidders may include up to 3 participants., all of whom shall be equipped with PPE in accordance with COVID-19 protocol. During this site visit, any conversations with CWU staff are considered informal and are not contractually binding. Bidders are responsible to verify and use the most recent prevailing wage rates. The "Effective Date" for this project is the Bid Proposal due date above. Voluntary numerical Diverse Business goals of 10% MBE, 6% WBE, 5% Washington Small Business, and 5% Veterans have been established for this project. Achievement of the goals is encouraged. No preference will be included in the evaluation of bids/proposals, no minimum level of MWBE participation shall be required as a condition for receiving an award or completion of the contract works, and bids/proposals will not be rejected or considered non-responsive on that basis. In accordance with RCW 39.04.320, mandatory 15% apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are a requirement of the construction contract. Voluntary workforce diversity goals for this apprentice participation are identified in the Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions for Washington State Facility Construction. Bidders may contact the Department of Labor & Industries, Apprenticeship Section, to obtain information on available apprenticeship programs. In accordance with RCW 39.30.060, if the base bid and the sum of the additive alternates is one million dollars or more, the Bidder is required to provide the names of the Subcontractors with whom the Bidder will directly subcontract for the performance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and electrical for this project on Subcontractor List Form A within one hour of the bid submittal time via email to keith.jones@cuw.edu. As there is no structural steel or reinforcing steel on this project, Subcontractor List Form B will not be required. No bidder may withdraw its bid after the hour set for the opening thereof, unless the award of the contract is delayed for a period exceeding 60 days. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
